Sunderland won at St James' Park with Brobbey scoring in the 90th minute for the 2-1 win.
The Holland striker later said: "You saw second half everybody was better, everybody gave everything for each other. After the first goal everyone ran for each other, I'm really happy for the win."
On what it meant to score the winning goal in front of the travelling Sunderland fans, he added: "A lot, the fans are always with us. It means a lot."
Meanwhile, Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris said of Brobbey: "He is getting better day after day. He is impressive. We needed more time as a team to find the right connections.
"The way we can use his strength especially. Now he is becoming a big threat and it's big for the club."
