Benjamin Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic has revealed that the striker should return to the Manchester United squad very soon.

The Slovenian injured his knee off the bench in the 2-2 draw at Tottenham last month and is set to return over the next two weeks ahead of the Christmas break.

Sesko came off the bench in that game but could not make it to the final whistle and has not featured since. However, his agent spoke to Slovenian broadcaster Arena Sport about how the summer signing will be back soon as United prepare to slot him back into the first team.

“Benjamin feels very good, his rehabilitation is going according to plan. He can’t wait to get back on the pitch. He’s missing matches, he’s a little impatient and we hope that he will return soon, to be where he feels best again.

“It’s hard to say exactly (when he will return), it will ultimately be decided by the medical service and the coach. I think we will see him on the pitch very soon. Maybe sooner than it seems at the moment.”

United have been dealing well without Sesko, pushing up to sixth in the league after beating Wolves on Monday night. Basanovic also praised manager Ruben Amorim who he thinks has used Sesko perfectly so far this season.

“I must say he (Amorim) received Benjamin excellently. I think Ruben is first of all, an excellent person with fantastic charisma, extremely intelligent, emotionally intelligent and I think he knows what he’s doing.

“I believe he’s in a difficult situation. It’s not easy to build such a project that requires enormous knowledge and amount of time. United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest and people don’t understand you need time.

Sesko could return to the side before United face Aston Villa on the 20th of December in a few weeks time.
