Sesko has had an impressive first campaign in the Premier League, flourishing under now permanent manager Michael Carrick since he arrived in January.

Having arrived in the Premier League with a massive £73.7M around his neck, the young striker has slowly proved to a pivotal member of the squad who snatched Champions League football ahead of next season.

Finishing the season with 12 goals in all competitions, Sesko has been a fine addition to the side. However, his start wasn’t without hurdles as he revealed the troubles he had and who inspired him to become a world-class striker.

“I remember when I came… as soon as I stepped out on the pitch and looked around, I wanted to start clapping, seeing all the people. It’s hard to describe, but I just really love it. From that point I knew it was going to be wonderful.

“The hardest challenge here was adapting to the league. It’s the best league and the speed of everything; each game helped me think faster and move faster.

“I enjoy pressure. If you have pressure, it means you are doing something good. As the striker of Manchester United, obviously people want goals and that’s why I’m here. I came here to score goals and win titles with this club.

“I looked up to Ibrahimović because he was amazing. But also football in general. Skills, goals. Things I tried to copy in the garden or on the street. It didn’t matter if it was really hot in the summer, I just wanted to get better all the time.”

Sesko’s Slovenia did not qualify for the World Cup, so he will now enjoy an extended summer break ahead of what should be an exciting campaign for the 22 year old.
