Hull City ended their 10-year exile from the Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Oli McBurnie's stoppage-time winner and 19th goal of the season sent the East End of Wembley into raptures, as City pulled off one of the greatest sporting achievements.

Sergej Jakirovic's men earned promotion back to the Premier League while under a two-window transfer embargo, relying solely on loans and free transfers.

Now with top-flight football returning to East Yorkshire, Jakirovic will have a sizeable budget to spend after £200 million was pocketed from promotion.

Already drafting up their transfer plans ahead of a monumental summer, the Bosnian wants to use Sunderland's success as a blueprint this summer after their incredible recruitment led to Europa League football.

"We have a nice budget, and we will see," Jakirovic told Hull Live. "The recruitment team have a lot of big days ahead of them.

"The chemistry is good with the owner and he supports me and believes in me. When you have that type of support, you can deliver a good result.

"We will try to add better players than we have right now. The main players who bring us to the Premier League can stay and help us, but we need to add better players as well. Sunderland are a good recipe, they add speed and dynamic players."

Hull have a huge challenge on their hands to avoid relegation next season, but with solid recruitment, anything can happen.
