City are ready to pay Semenyo's £65m buyout clause to take him north to the Etihad in January.
BBC Sport says the Ghana attacker wants the deal done on January 1. However, Bournemouth would prefer he wait until later in the window to January 10 in order to face both Tottenham and Arsenal.
The Cherries would also like some time to negotiate terms with Semenyo's replacement.
The issue for the club is that they're effectively cut out of talks with City as all the Sky Blues need to do is pay Semenyo's clause without any type of communication with Bournemouth.
As such, everything will hinge on Semenyo agreeing to delay the move ten days to assist his current club.
