Liverpool, who lost 3-0 to Nottingham Forest at the weekend, currently sit 12th in the Premier League table after losing six of their last seven matches in the English top flight.
Their title hopes are over and Slot is coming under immense pressure to turn his side around or face the sack in the coming weeks. The season so far has been dire, but the Reds also failed to win any of their final four matches of last season after clinching the Premier League title.
Slot celebrated the title win in Ibiza before the campaign had even concluded, with videos showing him celebrating in a club. Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, Scholes stated that this is where Liverpool began to fall apart.
"I think this started towards the end of last season, do you remember when they won the league? The bad form started, they went away, went to Ibiza or something. Honestly, Arne Slot was DJing.
“DJing in Ibiza. But that’s, that’s before the season’s done, that’s what I mean, I think that’s disrespectful that, before the season’s done, I think it’s classless that."
Liverpool are 11 points away from league leaders Arsenal and have next to no hope of winning the title. Many will point the finger at Slot, various players and summer signings as their poor form continues. Was partying in Ibiza a good idea? Many will debate this question until Liverpool eventually bounce back.
