Turki Al-Sheikh is chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, a Saudi government department. He is also heavily involved in football, having been a former owner of Pyramids of Egypt and Spain's Almeria.

He posted to X: "The best news I heard today is that Manchester United is now in an advanced stage of completing a deal to sell to a new investor – I hope he’s better than the previous owners."
There is also talk of United playing several midweek friendlies against Saudi Pro League teams this season given their lack of European and Cup football.
It's suggested United could earn over £10m from such glamour games.
