For the first time in 22 years, Arsenal are champions of England after officially securing the Premier League title on May 19th when title rivals Manchester City failed to defeat Bournemouth.
The Gunners celebrated after the full-time result as the streets of North London saw thousands of Arsenal fans gather together and go wild with celebration.
The Arsenal squad watched the game together, hoping that City would falter against the Cherries. Much to Arsenal’s delight, they did but Rice explained that he simply could not watch as his nerves spiked.
"I took the security guard, Pete, the first 40 minutes we walked every pitch possible. We were just chatting about the most random stuff.
"And then we hear the roar, so we come back in for the first goal. I was like, same again. And then on the way I was like, ‘I'm telling everyone, sit back in the same spot and all this’. And then literally come back in five minutes to go, and it was done, but I just couldn't watch it."
Bukayo Saka also described what was a hilarious situation: "This guy must have done about 12 laps of the training ground. We were all watching it on TV. He couldn't watch it. It was hilarious."
Arsenal have ended 22 years of heartache after three consecutive runners-up finishes, and they will now lift the title on Sunday afternoon, after the clash with Crystal Palace.
