Bukayo Saka admitted his corners were “rubbish” despite Leandro Trossard’s winner in Arsenal’s victory over Fulham coming from one of them.

Arsenal went top of the Premier League table thanks to a set piece goal from Leandro Trossard in their 1-0 win over Fulham on Saturday (October 19).

Saka, 24, whipped in the corner, which defender Gabriel then flicked on right into the path of the Belgian winger.

Despite the winner coming from a corner, the England international wasn’t happy with his contribution as Arsenal secured all three points.

When asked by Jamie Redknapp just how much of a threat Gabriel is from corners, Saka responded: "Yeah, yeah, he helps, it helped. We’ve got some big guys in the box.

"At the start of the game, I took some rubbish corners, so I was quite disappointed, but I kept going, and I think this is the fourth one.

“I put it in, and it was a nice delivery, Gabriel got the touch, and we got the goal, so I’m very happy with that."

Presenter Dave Jones then asked why Saka thought he was taking rubbish corners, to which he replied: "Did you not see them?"

And on working on corners, the Arsenal star added: "It’s something we work on a lot, and it’s quite clear, you know, we’re quite good at it. Like I said, I was happy with the ones in the end, which helped us get the goal."
