Sunderland star Noah Sadiki says the team will take the positives from Saturday’s defeat to Manchester City.

The Black Cats suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Citizens with Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and Phil Foden finding the net at the Etihad Stadium.

Even at the defeat, the Stadium of Light giants remain seventh in the English elite division log.

The African stated why Sunderland lost to Pep Guardiola’s men but remain positive going forward.

“We didn’t really get going, but we are playing against one of the best teams in Europe,” said Sadiki.

“The game was a bit scrappy in places and they punish every small mistake. That’s the level we’re competing at now.”

He also praised the travelling fans for their unrivalled support. “They were unbelievable,” he continued.

“They were all I could hear at times. Even when the game was tough, they kept pushing us. That means a lot inside the pitch.”
