Enzo Maresca is expected to replace Guardiola, who has stood down after a decade in charge at the Etihad Stadium in what is a dramatic change at the club which also sees Bernardo Silva and John Stones depart.
Since joining City in the summer of 2016, Guardiola has the club to six Premier League titles and a first Champions League crown in 2023.
In short, he will be almost impossible to replace and with a huge summer rebuild on the way, reports have claimed that experienced defender Dias wants out before the new season begins.
According to CaughtOffside, Dias is keen to leave the English side now that Guardiola has gone despite signing a long term deal until 2029, back in 2020.
Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are interested in snapping up the Portuguese international whose market valuation is around €60M.
Guardiola sits fourth on the list of managers with the most victories in Premier League history (269) and as Maresca is set to step in for the Spaniard, his job looks to be growing more difficult as key members of the side turn their head elsewhere.
For now, as he ponders his shaky future, Dias will shift his focus to this summer’s World Cup after being named in Portugal's 26-man World Cup squad to face DR Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia in Group K.
