Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is set to change his tactics at the club as fan criticism grows.

Amorim indicated the fixture against Wolves would proceed with his usual 3-4-2-1 system but suggested after the victory that his side do need to change if success is to be consistent.

“I think it’s not just Ben (Sesko) but everyone.

“We need to adapt a little bit the way we are going to play the games, and that is a good opportunity to do that because we cannot think that we are going to play the same way without Amad, Bryan and Nous, but especially Amad and Bryan because of the characteristics.

“That is really hard to get. They have more or less the same characteristics, the both of them, and we are losing them for a few games. But it’s a good opportunity for us to try to play in a different way.”

The Athletic reports that Amorim is interested in moving to a 4-3-3 system to adapt once Bryan Mbeumo (Cameroon), Amad Diallo (Ivory Coast) and Noussair Mazraoui (Morocco) leave for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The report also states that “a significant amount of time during training sessions in preparation” has been put towards “lining up in that shape” as Amorim makes drastic changes.

United could have Mbeumo, Amad and Mazraoui available against Bournemouth on Monday, but it is likely that Amorim will start with his new formation as he prepares for the next month of disruption.
