The Argentina winger, a £40M signing from Manchester United, has mixed opinions amongst fans and despite being just 21 years old he if often booed by supporters who are unhappy in the away end.

In his press conference this week, manager Liam Rosenior was asked why he thought Alejandro Garnacho got booed so regularly by opposition fans.

“I don’t understand. I don’t understand why that happens,” the manager answered.

“Maybe it’s because he can be such a threat. Playing for a club like Chelsea, that just comes with the territory. You have to rise above that and not take notice of it. That’s the best way for me. I don’t think you use it as fuel. Your motivation should be there anyway to perform.”

The suspension of Pedro Neto as well as the injury to Jamie Gittens and Estevao means Garnacho has a strong chance to feature against Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Rosenior also claimed that Garnacho had been “knocking on his door” pushing for a start with his training performances and it looks like the winger will get his chance this week as he attempts to prove himself to the English head coach.
