The celebrated statue of the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star was set on fire on Tuesday by a youngster, who recorded himself performing the vandalism.

Along with publishing the video on social media, the culprit included a message: "This is God's last warning."
Although initially the flames took hold of the entire statue, they quickly died down.
Local police say they are now investigating the incident and searching for the person responsible.
