Ferguson got his loan spell at Roma off to a perfect start by scoring a hat-trick within 24 minutes and four goals in total on his debut which will have impressed manager new manager Gian Piero Gasperini who took a chance on the Irish international who struggled whilst on loan at West Ham United last season.
The 20-year-old who was once tipped to be the "next Kane", admitted he tries to pick the best qualities from some of the best strikers of all time to try and improve his game so that he can reach his 20 goal a season target.
"I don't usually think about an exact number of goals. I definitely want to score in every game, even though I know it's not easy. Twenty goals? Let's hope..."
When asked if there is any center forward he looks up to, the 20-year-old said: "‘I try to learn from the best: Kane, Suarez, Ibrahimovic and Lewandowski."
Ferguson joined Roma on loan from the Seagulls after struggling with injuries and loss of form in the past 18 months. Whilst on loan with the Hammers he scored no goals in 8 appearances in what was a season to forget.
Roma take on Aston Villa in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday at Bescot Stadium and Ferguson will be one of the first names on the teamsheet under Gasperini who has shown a lot of faith in the young striker who was surplus to requirements at Brighton despite his qualities.
