Fernandes played a starring role in Man United's comeback victory against Crystal Palace at the weekend as the Red Devils maintained their spot in the top 4 with a 2-1 victory.
The Portuguese star is now on 13 assists in the Premier League so far this season and the hunt for the assist record which currently stands at 20 from Kevin de Bruyne and Thierry Henry.
Robson told BOYLE Sports who offer the latest football odds about how the playmaker could challenge for the title next season as long as he challenges himself and the side invest in the summer.
“Fernandes is a top player. He can do things on a football pitch other people can't. He creates chances for people. He scores great goals. I think his attitude is spot on. He's a great lad around the club.
“I was 33 when we won the FA Cup, then we went on to win the League Cup, we won the European Cup Winners' Cup, and then we won the title, and then we won the double. I was 33 when that all started up so when people keep talking about age, you can win a lot of things if you challenge yourself and keep yourself really fit. If you've got the experience then you can help people around you and I think Bruno can do that.
“The way United are playing at the moment, I think there’s real potential for development in the squad because Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro are going to improve as centre-halves. You've got the experience of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez so we've got really good players in certain parts of the team and really it's up to Michael (Carrick) and United as a club how they're going to build on that.
“If they just get a few more, better players in to improve them again then you go that one step further again.”
The win on Sunday sees Carrick’s side leapfrog Aston Villa and move into third place, a major step forward in securing Champions League football for next season as the side continue to improve.
