The 26-year-old was given the news that Liverpool had accepted an £8.6 million offer from Real Madrid, allowing him to join the Spanish side ahead of the Club World Cup campaign, while celebrating with his teammates.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Alexander-Arnold was pulled to one side by Michael Edwards, Liverpool's chief executive of football, sporting director Richard Hughes, and Mike Gordon, president of the club's U.S. owners Fenway Sports Group.
Alexander-Arnold recently described the decision to leave his boyhood club as "the hardest I’ve ever made in my life."
He has since gone on to start two of Real Madrid’s three La Liga games so far, although Xabi Alonso has substituted him in both.
