United discussed terms with Bournemouth, while Amorim held direct talks with Semenyo as they met for a meal.
However, it was the Ghana international who eventually pulled out of the move.
Semenyo was left unimpressed by United's contract offer, which was only 70 per cent of the salary they tabled to Cunha and Mbeumo to close their deals, reported the Sunday Times' Duncan Castles speaking on The Transfers Podcast.
