United outcast Antony is hoping Real Betis make progress in their bid to re-sign him over the next 24 hours after finding himself surplus to requirements at Old Trafford this summer by manager Ruben Amorim who is completely reshaping his side.
The Brazilian international helped the La Liga side reach the Europa Conference League final as he scored nine goals and registered five assists in 26 appearances that proved many doubters wrong. Betis are desperate to have him back and now Fabrizio Romano reports that a loan deal is on the table.
“Real Betis maintain their confidence to get Antony deal done, as reported last week.
“Face to face talks took place on Monday and continue today, Betis offer initial loan and want to get it done asap… still waiting on green light.
“Antony wants the move.”
With just six days remaining in the transfer window, Betis have to move quick in finalizing the deal that would bring the 25 year old back to the club in time for their game against Levante on the 13th September.
United brought Antony to Old Trafford in a deal worth £85M and due to his high wages of £150K+ a week a loan deal is all The Red Devils will get this summer. In May Betis president Angel Haro revealed that plans were in place to try and keep Antony at the club beyond the summer and now it looks like his wish will finally come true.
