Marcus Rashford is set to tear up his reported 3 year deal with Barcelona as he attempts to leave Manchester United.

Rashford’s loan deal with Barcelona includes an option to make the transfer permanent for €30M (£25.94M) that the Spanish side seem reluctant to trigger ahead of the summer transfer window.

The England international has 14 goals and 14 assists in 48 games for Barcelona who are said to be keen on holding on to the forward but only if he can cut down his high wages.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 28-year-old had already agreed in principle to a three-year contract that features a 40 per cent cut on his salary at United

However, reports state he is now prepared to abandon that arrangement and commit to a five-year deal instead which would make more sense financially.

The final decision on the matter will be made by manager Hansi Flick in the coming weeks as if he wants to keep Rashford, the club must negotiate a way to make his move possible.

Speaking recently on his future, Rashford admitted that he cannot control what the club decide: “Oh yeah, for sure. I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player it is an honour.”

He later added: “I don’t know. I am not a magician, but if I was, I would stay. We will see. I came here to win. I want to win as many things as I can. This is one more to add to this. This is a wonderful team, they’re going to win so much in the future; to be a part of that would be special.”
