Tottenham’s defeat against Fulham on Sunday saw the club equal their longest winless streak in Premier League history as they failed to capitalize on West Ham losing to Liverpool.
This was the club’s fourth defeat in succession in the Premier League means they have now gone 10 league games without a win and remain just four points above the relegation zone.
Despite this, the Premier League posted a video of Vicario with the caption “just how the play was drawn up” along with other text reading “an interesting free-kick from Vicario” along with a laughing emoji, before the word “whoops”.
This focused on Tottenham being handed a free-kick inside their own half which Vicario took and fired out for a goalkick in what was a strange decision from the Italian.
The Athletic report that the Premier League deleted the post following a complaint from the club despite the clip already receiving over 500K views.
Tottenham are currently 16th in the Premier League with 29 points as fans worry that the side will drop down the Championship.
However, interim manager Igor Tudor has insisted that Spurs are focused on their next match and should not look at the table.
“We are just thinking about the next game.
“We don’t need to think about that (relegation) not because it cannot happen.
“We must focus on growing mentality as a team, concentration, physically. These are the only goals we must have.”
