Former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is keen to return to Premier League management as Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo comes under pressure.

Nuno poured fuel on speculation that his job was under threat, saying “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” and that his relationship with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has been severed and it would be very difficult to return it to normal.

Postecoglou is out of a job after being let go by Tottenham despite winning the Europa League with the Lilywhites and reports are now linking him with a move to takeover from Nuno whose future is currently up in the air as talks between him and the club continue.

TalkSPORT report that Marinakis has already held direct conversations with Postecoglou as the pair have a great personal relationship. The Australian has a consistent track record of winning trophies, and that no doubt appeals to Forest despite him leading Spurs to 17th in the Premier League last season.

However, ahead of Sunday's match at Crystal Palace, Nuno said he is committed to Forest and believes talks with the club's hierarchy will put an end to the unrest around his job, meaning Postecoglou may not get his return anytime soon unless Marinakis takes drastic action.

Forest sealed European football after an excellent 2024/25 campaign and won their opening match of the new season 3-1 against Brentford in what has been a great start under Nuno who could still depart if talks do not head in the right direction.
