Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer played down his impact in their 2-0 Premier League win over Everton on Saturday (December 13).

Palmer, 23, scored his first goal since September as Chelsea secured a much-needed win at Stamford Bridge due to injury issues.

He was then replaced by Andrey Santos mid-way through the second half with Enzo Maresca confirming he’s still working his way back to full fitness.

Speaking to Match of the Day after the game, Palmer insisted he’s not yet back to his best and continues to play with the groin injury that has plagued him.

"I wouldn't say I'm at my best yet," he said. "I'm still dealing with an injury. Hopefully, it gets better and better but there's still a bit to go. It is getting better.

“The stuff I've been doing with the physios at the club. It's just a matter of not doing too much too soon. Literally, it's just a day-by-day thing. Hopefully it gets better."
