Crystal Palace are considering FIRING manager Oliver Glasner after his outburst following defeat to Sunderland.

Glasner lashed out at the board following the 2-1 loss for selling Marc Guehi to Manchester City.

The Austrian, with his contract running down this season, snapped: "I think the players gave everything they could. We didn't make any substitutions, look at the bench, it's just kids there. We feel like we're being completely abandoned. Selling our captain the day before a game - there's no understanding of this.

"We are preparing and then yesterday (Friday) I was told that our captain is going to be sold, but why not next week? At least he can play this game and then next week other players will come back. It really upsets me.

"If your heart gets worn out twice a year, with (Eberechi) Eze the day before a game in the summer and your captain the day before a game - I just don't understand. I've been in football for 30 years and I've never experienced this, not once. Now it's happening twice in six or seven months. That's exactly where we are now."

Sky Sports reports Palace are now discussing today whether to fire Glasner.

Steve Parish, co-owner and chairman of the London club, has not taken the criticism well.

The relationship between Parish and Glasner has not been good, and has been worsened by the sale of Guéhi.

Interestingly, Palace's website refused to carry any of Glasner's post-match quotes from Saturday's defeat.
