José Sá, Wolverhampton's goalkeeper, no longer believes the team will remain in the Premier League, but he still has a goal for the rest of the season and has already shared it with his teammates.

The Portuguese international is one of the captains of the Wolves, who are currently bottom of the Premier League. In a candid interview with DAZN Portugal, the former FC Porto and Marítimo goalkeeper admitted he no longer believes in survival.

"We have to be realistic and we have to be men, that's what I say here and that's what I believe. It's very hard for Wolves to escape relegation this season. The gap is too big, there are only 12 games left, and only a real miracle could save us," he admitted.

Wolves are at the bottom of the Premier League, with just one win and nine points, 14 away from safety. However, the goalkeeper wants to keep picking up points to avoid being labeled the worst team in the competition's history.

"Right now, the goal is not to be the worst team in Premier League history. The worst team finished with 11 points. We have nine, so the aim now is not to end up with that negative record. I don't want to be part of that historic low. After that, we'll see," continued the 33-year-old goalkeeper.

"We have to be realistic. Our squad is too small for the Premier League," he admitted.

José Sá has been with Wolves since the 2021/22 season and has made a total of 161 appearances for the English side, 15 of them this season.
