Wolves have rejected Newcastle United's bid for Jorgen Strand Larsen this week as they continue to search for a striker.

The Magpies have already had bids rejected for a number of world-class forwards such as Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Bryan Mbeumo, Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko and most recently Brentford’s Yoane Wissa with just a week of the transfer window remaining..

Newcastle rejected once again

Now, as reported by the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, Newcastle have now been rejected by Wolves as they seek to sign Norway international Strand Larsen who has scored 14 Premier League goals in 35 appearances.

“Wolves have rejected a £50m offer from NUFC for Jorgen Strand Larsen

“I’m told Wolves do NOT want to sell this window & believe there is no fee Newcastle could reach that would be acceptable.”

This has serious repercussions for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak who the club deem they must replace before allowing him to leave to Liverpool, whose £110M bid for the Swedish international was rejected earlier this month. If Newcastle do not bring in a replacement, Isak may stay at the side, despite it is being very unlikely that he will ever feature for the side again.

Wolves have no intention of selling

It is clear that Wolves do not want to sell Strand Larsen so late in the window and manager Vitor Pereira has made it clear how important Jorgen Strand Larsen is to Wolves even if he did not confirm that he will stay at the club this summer.

"He's a very important player for us. I never talk with him about it. He's our player. When I watch him on the training, he's committed with everybody, committed with the team. He's a fighter. He likes to win."

When asked if Wolves could afford to lose a key player between now and the end of the transfer window, Pereira added:

"I don't know. The market is the market. If the window is open, the players can come and the players can leave. I believe this is possible."
