Newcastle owners make Howe decision

Newcastle now sit in 12th place, with European qualification fast moving out of reach.

ChronicleLive says Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund won't make a "knee-jerk" decision after the defeat.

It was a third consecutive Premier League defeat for Newcastle, but Howe will lead the team against Tottenham in midweek.

Along with Howe, sporting director Ross Wilson and chief exec David Hopkinson are also under internal scrutiny over this season's struggles.

Hopkinson told talkSPORT this week: “Eddie's our manager and he's an extraordinary manager. Eddie's our man and he has our total support here."
