Manuel Neuer is set to decide on his future soon as several top clubs close prepare talks with the Bayern Munich star.

Neuer, who is nearly 41 years old, went to the Bernabeu and made nine saves in a man-of-the-match performance against Real Madrid as Bayern Munich won 2-1 in the Champions League Quarter Final last week.

Manager Vincent Kompany was full of praise for his veteran goalkeeper, stating:

“It wasn’t just experience, it was quality. He was very agile, which he only manages because he does so much for his body during the week. He makes it look so easy.

“You see these saves, which all look so safe, but they’re difficult moments for a goalkeeper. We needed that, and we’ll need those moments again in the coming weeks.”

The World Cup winner is one of the best goalkeepers of the 21st century, but he is yet to confirm whether he will retire at the end of the current campaign or extend his remarkable stay in the Bundesliga.

Talks are not underway just yet

Now, as reports link the 10 time Bundesliga winner with Premier League sides, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Neuer is still considering his future.

“Manuel Neuer is not negotiating with any Premier League club despite reports in UK.

Full focus on FC Bayern until June and then Neuer will decide whether he wants to sign new deal for one more season at the club or not.”

Talks over a new deal were suspended at the request of Neuer last month as he wanted to see how he recovered from a recent muscle injury.

He has since recovered well and talks may restart as Kompany and his team aim to keep hold of the veteran who is still proving his worth.
