Napoli have reportedly made Man United outcast Kobbie Mainoo their priority target for the upcoming January transfer window.

Mainoo, 20, has fallen right down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim this season, playing just 171 Premier League minutes across his nine games.

The midfielder asked to leave Man United on loan at the end of the summer transfer window, but had his request rejected by the club.

Napoli were one of the clubs keen on bringing Mainoo in, and will be back in for him in January, according to La Repubblica.

Antonio Conte’s side are desperate to sign a midfielder with Kevin de Bruyne, Billy Gilmour, and Stanislav Lobotka all out injured.

The report adds that any move will be restricted to a loan due to the club’s financial situation, and Mainoo has given his ‘green light.’
