The Daily Record report that Nancy and Hoops chiefs have been finalising paperwork after the appointment was delayed by red tape as he lands in the United Kingdom this week.

Now, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Frenchman will take his first training session tomorrow in what is a swift appointment.

“Wilfried Nancy has arrived in London now, authorized to travel by Columbus to become new Celtic head coach.

“Nancy will be in Glasgow on Thursday for his first training session at Celtic.

“Official announcement to follow.”

Nancy will face a clash with Hearts followed by taking on Roma in the Europa League and then the Premier Sports Cup final against St Mirren. Reports state that Nancy could even be unveiled at the match between Celtic and Dundee as fans eagerly await updates from the club.

O’Neill spoke on Nancy’s potential appointment: “I think that’s going to be absolutely great. It’s not a continuation.

“Young gentleman is coming in and it’s over to him. But obviously we’ve got the big, big game here tomorrow evening and I’d like to try and win it if we can.

“Dundee did us a few weeks ago so we’ve got a bit of a job on our hands.
