Rogers signed for Villa from Middlesbrough in 2024 in a deal worth up to £16M, and he has quickly established himself as a pivotal component under manager Unai Emery.
The midfielder was due to see his contract expire in the summer of 2030, but he has now extended his deal in a huge boost for the side. Speaking to the club website, Rogers expressed his delight over the extension, which he says he could not wait to sign.
“I’m so happy. The faith from the people at the club is a really nice feeling, and I couldn’t wait to sign. I’m really happy.
“It’s home. Being from the area makes it that bit sweeter, but the manager, the players, the staff, everyone here is so warm and welcoming every day.
“I’m excited to come in and train, work hard and give my all every day. I really enjoy it.
“The most important thing for me is enjoying my football and being able to express myself. There’s no reason why I wouldn’t want to stay here.”
Rogers has made 85 appearances for Villa, scoring 18 goals and providing 20 assists, as he led the side in Europe. The midfielder has since broken into the England side, scoring once in 10 appearances as his talent is recognized on the international stage.
Emery has helped immensely
The 23-year-old was asked about Emery’s influence since he signed for the side, something he says has pushed him to be his best.
“It’s everything. Especially with the things I’ve been through in the past with different teams, when you get a manager who’s so on your side and who wants to help and improve you, that really good relationship is very nice.
“For it to be a manager who’s so highly thought of in the game is really nice. I have a really good relationship with him and I can’t wait to keep working with him and keep progressing together.”
