Thomas Frank is now fighting for his job after Saturday's home defeat to West Ham.
Moncur wrote for The Sun: "Tottenham really is a poisoned chalice.
"Even winning the Europa League last season couldn’t save Ange Postecoglou.
"Now Thomas Frank is under increasing pressure following Saturday’s defeat to West Ham — their sixth at home in the Premier League this season.
"They have been plagued by injuries to key, creative players like James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and more recently, Mohammed Kudus.
"But even so, recruitment has not been good enough.
"The other concern for them is that nearly a quarter of their league goals this season have been scored by defenders.
"It feels as though they have gone backwards from this time last season when they finished 17th in the Prem, one place above the relegation zone — so that’s pretty alarming!"
