Gyokeres, 27, gave Arsenal the lead in the 14th minute thanks to another well-worked set-piece goal from the Premier League leaders.
The Sweden international was then replaced by Mikel Merino at half-time, with Arteta now confirming he has picked up a slight injury.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day after the game, the Spaniard was full of praise for Gyokeres, saying: "In the first half was one of the best he's played with us. He felt something muscular, so we have to wait to learn the extent of that.”
Arsenal are now seven points clear at the top of the table as they prepare for their mid-week Champions League clash with Slavia Prague on Tuesday (November 4).
