Cash fired Aston Villa to a 1-0 win over Manchester City at the weekend in what was an impressive win for manager Unai Emery, whose side moved into 8th place, joint with Liverpool.
Cash, who played a brilliant pass in the build-up to Villa's winner at Tottenham just last weekend, has now signed a new deal as per the club who revealed the news on Monday afternoon.
“Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Matty Cash has signed a new contract with the club.
“The defender has agreed a deal that will keep him at Villa until 2029.
“Now closing in on 200 appearances in Claret and Blue, he has been among the goals for both club and country this term - his winning goal against Manchester City yesterday was his fourth of the campaign.”
Speaking after his goal against Man City on Sunday, Cash confirmed that he had signed a new contract, telling Sky Sports: "It's agreed. Hopefully in the next few days it will be confirmed.
"But yeah I've agreed a new contract and I can't wait to spend the next few years here."
The former Nottingham Forest man will aim to continue his fine form against Liverpool this weekend where Villa could jump into the top four with three points which aren’t impossible given Liverpool’s dire form.
