Tottenham Hotspur appear to have won the race for Bournemouth defender Marco Senesi.

The Argentine is leaving the Cherries upon his contract expiry in June, and the 29-year-old has reached a "verbal agreement" to join Spurs

That is according to journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, who revealed that Tottenham will give Senesi a four-year contract until 2030 to land him ahead of their Premier League rivals.

Senesi will potentially become Roberto De Zerbi's second summer arrival after an "agreement in principle" to capture Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson was announced on Sunday.

Robertson sees his contract at Anfield expire next month and has reportedly chosen North London as his next destination after watching them confirm their Premier League survival.

A 1-0 victory over Everton, thanks to Joao Palhinha's strike, was enough to keep them up on the final day, with West Ham dropping into the Championship.

Tottenham will want to erase this abysmal campaign quickly from their memories, with the potential arrivals of Senesi and Robertson offering hope of challenging for Europe once more
