The Sun says Mather has been called up by manager Ruben Amorim over fitness concerns for Noussair Mazraoui.
Mazraoui returned from injury against Burnley last month and has since started in both of United’s Premier League fixtures against Manchester City and Chelsea.
But he has been missing from training this week, raising concerns over whether he will make the Bees trip.
Mather, meanwhile, saw move a move to Kayserispor blocked by United this month and also has received an approach from an unnamed UAE Pro League club.
However, he could now find himself involved at the Gtech this weekend. Significantly, Mather was missing for United's U21 clash with Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night.
