Shepherd, 16, made his U21 debut for Coventry earlier this season and has quickly been promoted to the senior squad by manager Frank Lampard.
The midfielder made the bench for Saturday's Championship game against Blackburn Rovers.
Shepherd remains on scholarship forms at Coventry and is yet to settle on a pro deal.
