Brentford's chief operating officer Ameesh Manek is moving to Manchester United.

BBC Sport says Manek is joining United as their new director of football operations. Staff at both clubs were informed of the move on Wednesday.

His remit at United will include overseeing 'travel, security, the training facilities and staff management and infrastructure'. Manek will also manage the Carrington training complex.

Interestingly, former Brentford coach Stephen Torpey left for United last month to become new academy director. And, of course, United also prised striker Bryan Mbeumo away from Brentford over the summer.

Manek succeeds David Harrison at United after he left earlier this year as part of the club's cost-cutting.
