It is no secret that United boss Ruben Amorim is looking to bolster his midfield as the club prepare to lose Casemiro when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The club have been linked to Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, Atleitico Madrid’s Conor Gallagher and various other talents who would slide right into United lackluster midfield.
However, one name that has been passed around is Mouzakitis who is often named the Greek Iniesta. TEAMTalk have reported that Manchester United scouts have been “regularly observing” the 18-year-old and now reports claim a bid was made to work out his price tag.
According to Sportime Greece, United have made an offer of €28M to sign Mouzakitis, but their initial offer is considered insufficient by the Greek side, who are said to want around £35M to see him leave.
With Casemiro set to leave, fellow midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is also rumoured to join him as he struggles for game time under Amorim. The England star is said to want a move to Italy whilst Casemiro is unlikely to take a pay cut to keep him at the club for next season.
Reports state that Mouzakitis has an unlimited engine which is exactly what Amorim wants in his side who are still adapting to his demanding tactics. However, Real Madrid are also said to be interested and Amorim must move immediately if he wants his target.
