Man Utd aware of buyout clause in De Gea's Fiorentina contract

De Gea recently signed a new deal with the Viola after a superb season in Florence and it has been revealed the agreement carries an "affordable" buyout clause.

The Sun says discussions inside United have now been held about triggering the option and bringing De Gea back to Old Trafford.

Whether De Gea would accept a return is another matter, the Spanish veteran was effectively pushed out of the club.

At United there's concerns over the form and fitness of No1 Ande Onana, who suffered a hamstring injury in the first week of preseason.

Now 34, De Gea's deal with Fiorentina runs to 2028.
