The two Premier League clubs are battling it out to sign the highly rated 22-year-old who is understood to be open to joining either club.
According to The Atheltic’s David Ornstein, Eddie Howe’s side have now made an improved offer for Sesko after having an opening bid worth €75million plus €5million in add-ons turned down.
It’s understood that Newcastle have raised it to at least €80m, which matches Leipzig’s asking price for the Slovenia international.
United are yet to make an official offer for Sesko despite their interest as they attempt to balance the books following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
