The Athletic’s David Ornstein recently revealed that United are keeping tabs on Brighton midfielder Baleba, 21, although a move this summer would be tricky.
Brighton are understood to be reluctant to sell one of the highest rated young midfielders in the league and have slapped a £105 million price tag on him.
United are keen to try and negotiate a slightly more favourable deal, but have no intention of sending Collyer, 21, the other way, according to Manchester Evening News.
Collyer broke into the first-team under Ruben Amorim last season and went on to make 13 appearances across all competitions for his boyhood club.
