After losing to non-league Macclesfield FC in the FA Cup, Guehi’s chances of lifting a trophy with the Eagles this season have drastically decreased.

The England star has been linked with Premier League champions Liverpool and title hopefuls Manchester City this season in what is looking like a January transfer before his contract expires at the end of this season.

At 25 years old, he has already captained Palace in Europe in the Conference League and is set to start for England under manager Thomas Tuchel at the World Cup in the summer.

Now, The Independent report that City “are desperate to force through a deal in this transfer window” in a move that would see Liverpool miss out despite the Reds having an injury crisis at in defence at the moment.

The report states that City are prepared to match other offers and will make an offer before the window shuts as manager Pep Guardiola builds a side that are worthy of a title shot once again.

Arsenal are said to be interested and with the injury to Piero Hincapié in the last week, the Gunners may want to make a move before title rivals City secure a deal.
