The midfielder, 40, has now declared he is hanging up his boots.

Fernandinho posted to social media: "I'm already tired.

"I'm exhausted after running for just over 30 minutes today. Nothing motivates me in football anymore; I've achieved too much in this sport. I've enjoyed it to the fullest.

"Now it's time to enjoy my family."

With City, Fernandinho won five Premier League titles. He also won the Copa America in 2019 with Brazil.
