Pep Guardiola’s plans for Man City’s No.1 goalkeeper spot have reportedly been revealed, with returning youngster James Trafford’s role potentially affected by the club’s ongoing pursuit of PSG star Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Trafford, 22, returned to boyhood club Man City earlier in the summer after an impressive spell at Burnley, playing a key role as they secured promotion back to the Premier League.

According to The Telegraph, Trafford is expected to head into the new season as Guardiola’s first choice goalkeeper, regardless of whether Ederson is still at the club.

That could change, however, with the Englishman’s return potentially impacted by City’s interest in wantaway PSG ‘keeper Donnarumma.

The report adds that City have spoken to Donnarumma’s agent, and any move to the Premier League side will be dependent on Ederson leaving.
