Liverpool are set to hand Dominik Szoboszlai a new deal before the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old joined the Reds back in 2023, signing a deal until 2028 which is now just 2 years away as top teams from around Europe monitor the Hungarian international.

Speculation has surged in recent months following comments from Hungary manager Marco Rossi, who claimed that playing for Real Madrid has always been Szoboszlai’s "dream”.

"I absolutely don't rule out the possibility of him staying at Liverpool and renewing his contract there, especially because he's highly valued within the club," Rossi added.

Now, as reported by Shoot, the Premier League champions plan to tie Szoboszlai down to push away transfer interest from the La Liga giants who are keen on stealing the midfielder away.

Szoboszlai has appeared 36 times for Liverpool so far this season, registering 10 goals and seven assists in all competitions. He has been the club’s player of the season so far under manager Arne Slot who would be devastated to lose him.

Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr recently revealed in a YouTube documentary that he is in regular contact with Szoboszlai which only added fuel to the fire of a transfer story that won’t end until fresh terms are agreed.

Liverpool lost Trent Alexander-Arnold last summer to Madrid and the Spanish side will believe that stealing away Szoboszlai will be just as simple when the summer window opens.
