England Under-21 Euros hero Harvey Elliott is open to leaving Liverpool this summer as he weighs up his options.

Elliott joined Liverpool in 2019 and has found it difficult to establish himself as a regular starter despite offering so much to the midfield that often lacks creativity despite so many world-class players. The young midfielder is attracting plenty of interest after showing what he is worth at the U21 Euros this summer.

This interest has mainly come from West Ham United who are aiming to replace Mohammed Kudus who joined Tottenham this month. Newcastle and Tottenham have also been linked to the England international but reports are minimal.

Speaking to The Anfield Wrap in Hong Kong during Liverpool’s Asia tour, Elliott admitted that he loves being at the club but he must move away for more game time.

“Look, if I had it my way, I’d be here for the rest of my career, it’s as simple as that, I love everything about the club.

“But at the same time I kind of need to be selfish with myself and see what’s best for me.

“I have big ambitions. I want to go to the World Cup. I want to keep being successful as a player.”

Elliott has struggled to play a major role in many of Liverpool’s trophy lifts in recent years and despite being such a decorated player he is keen to make his mark on the pitch. He reveals that he needs to think about his future, especially with the transfer window still open as a move away could still be a possibility.

“I think it’s still something I need to review. I need to have a talk with everyone, really and review the situation because we’ve had many new players come in, so whether it blocks the path for me I’m not sure, it’s something I need to decide and have a look at.

“My main focus is here now. At the moment I’m here for the season, as far as I’m aware, unless if anything changes, we have a busy pre-season, it’s non-stop, I need to make sure I’m focus on that and just be ready for everything.”
