With 255 goals in 435 appearances, the Egyptian king will be almost impossible to replace ahead of the next season where The Reds will challenge for the title once more.

Desire Doue, Michael Olise, Bradley Barcola and Nico Williams have all been linked, but it is Yan Diomande that reports believe to be the club’s key transfer target.

The 19-year-old was playing high-school soccer in the United States two-years ago but is known widely known as one of the most wanted wingers in Europe.

Diomande, who cost Leipzig £17.3m to sign from Leganes last summer has picked up 11 goals and eight assists in 29 games for the German giants.

While his fee could rise to near £86M, Liverpool will be saving well over £25M on Salah’s wages as he leaves a year before his contract is up.

Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked to the teenager, meaning Liverpool will face stiff competition for his signature.

Liverpool will have several names on their shortlist but Diomande looks to be top of the pack due to his age and world class potential. As the summer approaches, many named will be linked, but the Ivorian looks to be the prime candidate.
