Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano explained that Leeds have reached an agreement with Lyon for Perri and that a medical is now booked in for the 27-year-old.
“Leeds United have agreed deal in principle with OL for goalkeeper Lucas Perri. Medical tests booked and formal steps to follow... Deal in place to join LUFC”.
More news came from The Athletic who reported that a private flight is scheduled to arrive near United’s Germany training camp from Lyon on Tuesday evening as he makes his way to the UK to complete his medical with the newly promoted side.
Perri will become Leeds' seventh signing of the summer window and will replace Frenchman Illan Meslier who fell out of favour under manager Daniel Farke due to his inconsistencies between the posts.
Farke ended up replacing him with Karl Darlow for the campaign’s final seven matches which signalled that the club would be looking for a replacement this summer. Now, the club seemed to have found one in Perri who will likely become the new Leeds No 1 ahead of the new season at just 27 years old.
