The Black Cats go to Newcastle in today's early kickoff knowing a win would see them jump ahead of their Northeast rivals on the Premier League table.
“There is always something different in the derby,” said Le Bris.
“It drives everything. You want to improve all the details of the players. It’s an interesting period but you want to be involved in these kinds of games.
“We have the players to manage the momentum in the game. When it’s time to go forward and slow it down.
“The willingness to win, the desire. There is always a risk to block the players if you push too much. It’s about playing the game.”
He continued: “It’s emotion and control If there is too emotion, it can control you mind. The unpredictability is so high, you have to manage your emotions.
“We want to be intense but with control.
“In the play-offs last season, it was important to stay connected with the game. We have the foundations, the game model. But you have to manage the expectation.
“You have to have the margin in your brain to be ready. If you overload your brain, it will be much harder to manage.”
